THIRST for Biodynamic Practices

Since the end of the Second World War, dramatic events have stirred the agricultural world, and viticulture has become the source of many debates around farming, with synthetic chemicals as one of the fuels for discussion. The general organic movement is a subject that is deeply embedded with wine consumption, leading market trends and shaping wine lists in restaurants and selections in wine stores. Even further than these organic farming and winemaking practices is the biodynamic philosophy. Should this concept be considered as a modern practice, or conversely, a reminder of an ancient, traditional way to work, before herbicides and pesticides? We will answer such questions in a class dedicated to this important dialogue.
