As it is often the case in Burgundy, Mother Nature threw a few curve balls in 2012. Hailstorms in the Côte de Beaune and sunburned fruits in the Côte de Nuits reduced yields to an average of 24 hl/ha throughout the Côte d’Or.
Fortunately, low quantities are not necessarily synonymous with low quality. In fact, the fine weather of September gave birth to some pristine fruit reinforced with solid tannins, a signature of the vintage.
Today, these ten year old wines have just gone through their tumultuous adolescence and entering a more polished and mature young adulthood and we love the wisdom they’ve achieved.
