In addition to being the unofficial wine capital of Burgundy, the charming town of Beaune gave its name to nearly five hundred hectares of vineyards that surround it. The size of the appellation includes some famous Premiers Crus such as the “Clos des Mouches” that borrows the structured style of the wines of its neighbor Pommard. The iron-rich terroir of “Bressandes” and Bouchard’s “Vigne de l’Enfant Jésus”, adorably nicknamed “Baby Jesus” in the US, are all great reasons to take a walk on the Beaune side and taste authentic wines of Burgundy, both white and red.
