It is no news that the geological composition of the soil is one of the key elements of terroir, and experiencing how the underground influences the taste of wine is always a fascinating exercise. Sabra Lewis, an acclaimed New York City sommelier, will help you explore and taste wines made from the unique Kimmeridgian soil, a chalky marl filled with fossilized seashells that can be found in many winegrowing regions, including the eastern Loire Valley, Champagne, and Chablis.
She will present six wines from great producers such as Alphonse Mellot, Pierre Gerbais, and Vincent Dauvissat!
Pierre Gerbais Champagne (Pinot Blanc), ‘L’Original’ NV
Vincent Dauvissat, Chablis 1er Cru Séchet 2013
Alice et Olivier de Moor, Chitry-Aligoté
Thierry Richoux, Irancy, ‘Veaupessiot’ 2013
Alphonse Mellot, Sancerre Rouge, En Grands-Champs, 2015
Domaine Pellé, Menetou-Salon Morogues ‘Les Blanchais’ Lieu-Dit 2017
