Apéro au Beaujolais

  • Pressoir.wine Tasting Room & Clubhouse, Suite 530 285 West Broadway New York, NY, 10013 United States (map)

From south of Mâcon to north of Lyon, Beaujolais covers almost 14,500 hectares of vines in the 12 Beaujolais appellations d'origine contrôlée. Although Beaujolais is often considered to be part of Burgundy, Beaujolais wines actually stand apart thanks to the grape variety planted (98% of Gamay) with its fruity and mineral character. Beaujolais vines flourish on a diversity of terroirs: in the south, the soil is often clay-like, sometimes chalky, and the landscape is characterized by a series of rolling hills, while in the north, the soil is often sandy, half granite in origin.

This “Apéro” tasting will focus on the diversity of the appellation. Our carefully curated selection of wines from top producers such as Lapierre, Foillard, Clos de la Roilette, and many others will express the unique aromas of this region with its signature fruit, freshness, and finesse and will demonstrate the ageability of Beaujolais with vintages going back to 2010.
