Aligoté has had quite a comeback in the last decade. Once almost exclusively considered a simple wine used to make the traditional Kir cocktail, this white grape that has been cultivated in Burgundy, its birthplace, for centuries and in fact shares very close D.N.A. with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is now considered the cool new white wine of Burgundy. Not only the quality has gone up overall but even some of the most respected producers are using their talent to making a cuvée of Aligoté, in addition to their well-known Volnay or Meursault. That is the case for famous names such as Pierre Morey, Marquis d'Angerville or Bruno Clair to name just a few. Come taste these refreshing and delicious whites with us for this walk-around Apéro in the Pressoir tasting room.
